Does anyone know what I would call this thing and where I can buy one?
When I was a kid, I remember playing with one in my parents’ attic. I can’t seem to find anyone who knows what I’m talking about! AAARGH! It’s a little handheld, pocketsized “machine.” Each button on top counts that column from 0-9 then if it gets back to zero, it automatically bumps the next column up one. Like an old fashioned calculator that isn’t battery powered and can save numbers forever unless you push the button on the end which resets all the columns to zero. I need one that looks like this. (The original was even red with white buttons like I’ve drawn). Can anyone out there help me?

I had one of these as a child. I have no idea what they were called. A manual counter of some sort. The closest thing I found was this http://www.amazon.com/ACCUSPLIT-AL608-Finger-Tally-Counter/dp/B0007ZH0CO, doesn’t look the same, however seems to have the same functionality. Good luck!
Barraca, I want to use it as a calorie counter. Something I can keep in my pocket and as I eat or snack during the day I can click in the calories I’ve consumed. When I reach my daily limit, I’ll stop. Then the next day reset it and start over. A diet plan that I just know would work! Much better than the mini-notebook method…
Mark, Yes, I saw those thank you. Unfortunately they only count by ones and with calories I need to be able to add in tens or hundreds with a click. Hmmmmm…. Know where the one is that you had as a kid?? lol

I think I saw something like this at a golf store many years ago - it’s used to keep track of how many times a player hits the ball if my memory is correct.
